Infrastructure Masons and African Datacentre Association announce Strategic Alliance

The Infrastructure Masons (iM) and the African Data Centres Association (ADCA) are forming a Strategic Alliance to cooperate in supporting and promoting the Digital Infrastructure Industry in Africa. The cooperation will be in the form of collaborating at trade events, organising gatherings of individuals working in the Digital Infrastructure Industry in Africa, raising awareness of the industry to young people, and attracting new talent. iMasons will provide scholarships to students applying for iM approved qualifications at local (African) colleges – the main criteria being that the course could result in the student entering the Digital Infrastructure Industry. iM aims to continue to award at least 50% of scholarships to women.

iM are planning to open a number of Local Chapters across the continent. The vision of iM is to Unite the Builders of the Digital Age by providing the platform for iM Members to “Connect, Grow and Give Back“. An iM Local Chapter is a geographically specified area or region where the Digital Infrastructure Industry (End Users and Industry Partners) benefit from regional focus and coordination.

Whenever iMasons meet – we leave our companies at the door.

“Africa has great potential and talent for the digital age, given the relatively young demographic average age and the success to date of the penetration of mobile telephony.

The Africa Data Centre Association is delighted with this iMasons initiative to open local Chapters across the continent, and in particular, its investment in education, diversity and inclusion. This is an exciting time for capacity development in Africa.” Fatoumata Sarr-Dieng, President Africa Data Centre Association.
